Description
Can a defibrillator optimize your cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) technique in real-time? The groundbreaking ZOLL AED Plus defibrillator can.
While not every victim may require defibrillation upon experiencing sudden cardiac arrest, every victim does require CPR. That’s where the ZOLL AED Plus rises to the occasion, with a key feature that can dramatically increase the chances of survival.
FAVORITE FEATURE: Real CPR Help Technology
Knowing how to operate an AED and administering high-quality CPR have been two different concepts to understand. Until now.
At last, the ZOLL AED Plus is the fully automatic defibrillator that creates a seamless experience for those in a position to save a life – like you.
As soon as you begin administering CPR, you’re never alone. The ZOLL AED Plus is right by your side to actively monitor the CPR you’re performing in real-time, with the help of Real CPR Help technology.
This transformative feature analyzes the chest compression depth and rate, providing real-time feedback through voice prompts.
How Does The ZOLL AED Plus “Know” To Coach You?
Each ZOLL AED Plus brings a new level of innovation with a one-piece electrode placed on the chest to provide continuous CPR monitoring.
By converting CPR performance data into audio and visual prompts tailored just for you at that moment, ZOLL’s automated external defibrillator will actively provide CPR coaching to you on the rate and depth of your compressions.
Brains And Toughness Is All Part Of The Package
In addition to being a consistently reliable AED and CPR performance coach, the ZOLL AED Plus has the durability to stand up to a wide variety of challenges, including extreme temperatures, moisture, shocks and vibration.
It’s a tough world. But the AED Plus was made for just about every emergency condition thrown at it.
Even its battery and electrode pads were built to last with an incredibly long 5-year lifespan before needing replacement.
Better Preparedness For The “Worst Case Scenario”
Sudden cardiac arrest can strike at any time, anywhere. A school. A workplace. A public venue.
Fortunately, thanks to the ZOLL AED Plus, strong guidance on CPR is in your hands at any moment, empowering trained responders and bystanders to act swiftly and effectively when every second counts.
And that can make all the difference to save lives.
Frequently Asked Questions For Your ZOLL AED Plus
How often should I maintain and inspect my ZOLL AED Plus?
The good news is that while it’s normal to inspect an AED every month to ensure it is always ready to use, the ZOLL AED Plus performs a self-test every week!
That said, you can never take too many precautions for an act involving saving a life, can you?
If you inspect the AED Plus every month as a backup to your device’s self-test, you’ll want to ensure there are installed ZOLL AED Plus batteries, no warning indicators and connected, unused electrode pads.
There is a red “X” in the Status Indicator window.
What does this mean?
If the ZOLL AED Plus is turned off when you see the red “X”: Check to see if the cable is attached correctly to the unit. Replace the batteries.
If the ZOLL AED Plus is turned on when you see the red “X”: Power cycle the unit. Remove the unit from service if the red “X” remains in the Status Indicator window.
What does it mean when my ZOLL AED Plus starts beeping?
You’ll hear a beeping sound from your device for a few different reasons, but the most likely one is that the battery needs replacement.
Don’t delay taking action and risk lacking the essential battery power your ZOLL AED Plus needs to deliver a shock in a life-saving situation.
Suppose the batteries appear in proper working order and a green check mark is in the Status Indicator window. In that case, there are a couple of other common possibilities to investigate:
Are the electrode pads connected?
Check to ensure that there is a solid connection in place.
What is the expiration date of the ZOLL AED Plus pads?
An expired (or damaged, for that matter) set of electrode pads must be replaced immediately.
During actual life-saving activities, you’ll hear the beeping noise emanating from the ZOLL AED Plus, but that’s a regular occurrence when it involves:
Heart rhythm assessment
The beeping sound indicates an analysis is in progress and no one should touch the patient during this period.
Delivering a shock
Detecting a shockable heart rhythm will cause the ZOLL AED Plus to beep. Visual prompts will follow, instructing you to deliver a shock to the patient.
Minimizing the patient’s motion
One of the unique features of this particular AED is motion detection, which results in a beeping when the patient is moved or jostled during the heart rhythm assessment or shock delivery. Try to keep the patient’s movements to a minimum.
How do I know whether my ZOLL AED Plus runs on a current or older software version?
If the unit is running software version 5.32 or higher, you may see a prompt stating “Change Batteries,” instructing you to replace all 10 of your 123A lithium batteries for the AED at once.
You can also locate the ZOLL AED Plus model number and contact us to verify the software version your machine is currently running.
What other prompts will I likely hear from the ZOLL AED Plus besides “Change Batteries”?
“Plug in cable”
Attach the electrode cable.
“Unit failed”
Turn the unit off and then on. If this message persists, move to performing CPR.
“Release shock button”
Let go of the shock button.
“(Number of) shocks delivered”
